Our 3D Architectural Workshop Excursions into Architectural Elements - "Details in 3D" is a workshop designed to inspire professionals to create finishes that are "off the wall" with 3-dimensional elements. Combining collage-style designs, students will embed, bury and, ‘sculpt’ embossed motifs that transform faux and decorative finishes to new heights (literally). Building on the strengths of traditional trowel methods, glaze techniques, and stenciling properties, this workshop adds some exciting new twists of expression with scrapbooking memorabilia, collectibles, notions, and trimmings. Add artful samples to your portfolios to upsell an accent wall that compliments gorgeous Venetian Plasters or Old World Faux Stones. Let the wall ‘be the art’ for added value in home or office décor. Finishes taught in this class will be great additions for exotic small as well as large space designs.

Classes

Our stencil class, "Artistic Explorations with Paint, Plaster and Pattern" is a comprehensive 3-day workshop that will allow you to expand and compliment your portfolio of finishes. Students will work with a wide variety of both traditional and innovative techniques that will explore the full range of potential inherent in this classic medium. All of the stenciled samples created in class will incorporate finishes and textural mediums from an extensive repertoire of products. This allows for an unlimited exploration of custom and creative possibilities. Students will leave this class with the knowledge and skills to replicate everything from "quick" translucent effects and easy "trompe" tricks, to highly detailed and defined illusions.
Our marbling and woodgraining class, European Master Marbling and Woodgraining is comprehensive painting class that will combine techniques of classical and modern marble and woodgrain painting.

Our Metallic foil workshop
Metallic Foils...Reflective Illusions
is our newest workshop! Metallics are becoming more integral in the design and decorative painting fields. These metallic foils are easy to apply and offer extremely high production rates versus traditional gold leafing techniques. The foils will not tarnish, do not need to be sealed, and are virtually indestructible. They can be installed with none of the mess of traditional leafing. You will learn the use of these foils in wall finishes where the foil is applied first, in the middle, and last in the decorative painting process. You will also see the benefits of using the foils on detailed moldings, wood trim, furniture, and in murals. Metallic paint cannot offer the shine of these foils, and the cost is very low compared to metallic paint or leafing products. This is a three day workshop with ten completed, layered metallic foil finishes. The only prerequisite is that you are a current, practicing faux finisher in the field.
