This
workshop is designed so that students will learn perspective techniques.
It concentrates on mural layout, multiple-point perspectives,
and "tips and tricks". Topics include: painting techniques for
the foreground, middle, and background, the use of simple tools
(e.g., levels, strings, and projectors) to create "perceptively
correct" Italian tile floors, arched doors and windows, columns
and arches, and much more! Prior experience with handpainting and/or
drawing is recommended.
Each student will complete a 4' x 8' mural that is based upon
some of our more popular elements (e.g., vaults, rows of columns,
fountains, etc.). Students will be expected to follow and embellish
our basic design by tapping into their own creativity. Our expectations
are that students will want more than to reproduce a mural. They
will want to use the concepts that we convey to unleash their
imagination. We hope you can join us for this incredible workshop!
