Italy Faux Finish tour

Welcome
2008 Italy Tour
September 26th - October 7th 2008

Days 1 and 2

We depart from various locations in the United States to Newark or JFK Airport depending on your location. We fly to Italy overnight and arrive in Rome at the Rome Fiumicino Airport.

All of our traveling companions will be greeted at the airport and we will be escorted to Hotel Cicerone in Rome. Once we all check-in, you will be able to browse and shop, (depending on your arrival time) and later that night, You will enjoy cocktails with Martin, traveling companions and the tour director at the Rome Hotel Cicerone.

The Rome Hotel Cicerone The Cicerone Hotel Rome, on a street of the same name, lies in the heart of Rome’s exclusive Prati district a popular area for the city’s well to do. Close to attractions like Castel St Angelo and the Vatican This Four Star Hotel in Rome also offers excellent access to prime shopping areas and some fantastic bars and restaurants. A short walk across the river carries one into the medieval heart of Rome allowing access to Piazza del Popolo and the exclusive shopping areas around the Spanish steps to the east;
a genuine pleasure to stay before or after a tiring tour of the city or a hard day's work...and to the south Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and many other fountains, churches, Piazzas and museums.

The area, quiet and refined, is close to the centre of Rome yet removed from the more crowded routes, which makes it an ideal destination for those who find themselves in Rome for work, as well as for those who'd like to get to know the Eternal City from a new perspective.

The National Gallery of Modern Art includes works of Balla, Morandi, Pirandello, Carrŕ, De Chirico, De Pisis, Guttuso, Fontana, Burri, Mastroianni, Turcato, Kandisky and Cézanne.

There is no other street that captures the true essence of Rome than the Via Veneto. The tree lined, winding boulevard is in the heart of Rome.

The Borghese Garden At the top of this serpentine street, a park that is home to one of Rome most prestigious museums as well as an opera house, Rome's most famous park: Villa Borghese estate and gardens, colorful flowerbeds to the Giardino del Lago "garden of the lake"

Strolling down the street you'll find many designers shops and outdoor cafes perfect for watching international travelers. Stop at one of the dozens of cafes for an espresso or gelato!

A few blocks away is Rome's most famous and priciest shopping street: Via dei Condotti.

Wander past the designer windows of Armani, Bulgari, Prada and Valentino....

As you continue down the street, you arrive at The Spanish Steps, the monumental stairway of 138 steps the longest and widest staircase in all of Europe.

After the arrival day in Rome, later that evening, one can stroll through the nightlife of Rome...
but make sure you get back early to sleep....
We are off to Pompeii and The Isle of Capri in the morning!
