After faux finishing, part-time for a few years . . .

In 1999, Angela Pomone Roberts launched her business, Pomone Studios, in Nashville, Tennessee, immediately following classes at the Faux Finish School in Louisville. Angela completed both the Art and Business of Faux Finishing and the Advanced Class, Designer Wall Finishes.

Angela had the opportunity not only to study with Martin Alan Hirsch, but also work directly under him on three important projects including Reba McEntire’s Starstruck Studios and Papa John’s World Headquarters in Louisville. She believes this experience positioned her for important commercial jobs. When Ambiance Salon re-located to Music Row, Angela was asked to consult on the renovation before the lease was signed. The salon features five different textured finishes, including a 5 layered peeled paint finish and incredible bronze and copper metal doors. This project was
followed by a large contract with Gaylord Entertainment for the Opryland Hotel. Pomone Studios played a key role in the complete renovation of the Cascades Restaurant, covering over 3,000 square feet in textured faux finishes, such as Old World plaster over brick and custom-designed embossed stone finishes. Her training, experience, and on-going technical support via the private student message board and the school, provided her with the resources to complete the job and sub-contract other students that have studied with Martin Alan Hirsch.
